Akino Tsuga is a designer and maker of Akino Jewellery Design.
Akino was born and brought up in Tokyo, trained at Tama Art University where she originally studied Fine Art, after graduating, she pursued her career as fine artist and had some well received exhibitions with her installation in Tokyo. In 2002 she moved to England and started Jewellery and has been working in this field since.
Her inspiration is from art, design, architecture, theatre as well as nature. From raw sketch to final piece, she develops her idea in every stage with different technique. In 2005 one of her works based on Sydney Opera House won a prize in the competition "Inspired By" at V&A.
She set up her business in 2006, started with hand crafted bespoke silver jewellery, and in 2008 she added a new range - Kimono Fabric accessories with her Japanese origin and influence by her weaver mother.
